Hello I'm Chef Joe Randall!

I created Chef Joe Randall’s Cooking School in the fall of 2000, as a facility where I could use the food of the South, the Low Country, and the Atlantic Georgia Coast as a vehicle to dispel the myths and misconceptions many visitors and locals alike held about Savannah and her cuisine. In short, I wanted to be able to bring the great treasures of this coastal region as close to peoples' homes as their own kitchens, and with a style all my own.

I preach the gospel of authentic Southern cuisine to all comers. The success of the school is a credit to my great love of southern cuisine and the city of Savannah. And also what I have done to share the heritage and southern culture with visitors from all over the world.

For almost 10 years, I've shared my passion for Southern food and culture with the Savannah metropolitan region and beyond, and one day I'd like to share it with you.

Chef Joe preparing a mealLet Chef Joe Randall’s Cooking School put a little south in your mouth, and joy back into your kitchen. It is my undying devotion to my heritage and the cuisine of the south and my love of sharing it with others that has made the school so successful and me truly joyful.

After forty-three years, I’m still cooking and eating traditional and contemporary Southern food, and sharing it with whomever will stop long enough to listen and taste. I can provide a dining experience with an ability to bring about strong feelings of physical, spiritual or emotional satisfaction for just the two of you, or a grand party for a group of your best friends! I demonstrate basic southern cooking techniques and share my favorite cooking tips. The classes are taught for everyone's enjoyment.

Just a whiff of the rich, spicy aroma drifting from a steaming pot of Savannah Red Rice or Sea Island Smothered Shrimp, with Stone-Ground Grits, and you won't be able to wait until it's ready. For more information and to register, please visit the "Classes & Events" page.

Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School Cancellation Policy:  Space is limited. FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED.  In order to reserve your space in a class, full payment is required at the time of registration. A credit will be issued if the registered student cancels no less than seven days prior to the beginning of the class. If you cannot attend, SEND A FRIEND to take your place. Students canceling after seven days will be charged the full tuition and no credit will be given.

Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School Make-up Policy:  Make-ups are allowed for Basic Cooking Series classes only. Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School can accommodate no more than two make-up students per class meeting in order to maintain the ideal student- instructor ratio. Please call the school to schedule your make-up prior to the class date. Students must call Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School to request make-up registration within 6 months of the missed class.
